Although the premise is to create yourselves within the world that we know, Admin’s (who are the individuals running the game) are able to contort and alter the world as they see fit to what they want the crew (the role-playing group) to encounter. It incorporates an ‘Insanity’ system as well: unlike television shows or movies, when normal humans encounter strangeness, their minds don’t handle it very well, and this game gives that into consideration. Without going into detail about too much, the system is set up to be easy for veteran and beginner players alike. Character creation takes no time at all (save for the limitations of your imagination), and conflict resolution is meant to be as streamlined as watching a movie.
The Hunt RPG also takes into consideration the availability of people and their desire to play. A Night – or game session – can take place either face-to-face at someone’s house, a library or coffee shop, or can be hosted online through various means of communication. Also included are rules of downtime and the use of forums, should the Admin and their crew wish to visit this option.
The main goal of The Hunt is to have an enjoyable game, open for everyone. It was created by a gamer, for gamers in mind, with gamers testing its capabilities.
In the months to come, I hope to share with you more and more of what the game is, and for those that Alpha and Beta test it, I hope that you enjoy what I present to you. To the rest of the world, I am excited to see how this turns out and hope that it is received well!
May the Nights find you in good spirits!
